cost-effective movement of freight in modern global logistics
systems. Over 90 percent of foreign trade moves by sea. In today's
globalization era, international trade is mainly dependent on sea
route which is very much cost effective. To undertake future
responsibilities and face new challenges of globalization in this
sector, we need talented people with application skills.
MBA
Shipping and Port Management is a rare course conducted by very few
universities and institutions in India. Shipping and Port Managers
can find suitable employment opportunities in government departments
like Railways and Defense. PSUs like Shipping Corporation and other
agencies in the field of logistics and shipping are favored place
for shipping managers. However, working with private logistics and
shipping companies are the best option available to shipping and
port managers. These professional also can work with private packer
and movers and transporters. Heavy industries dealing with high
volume of inflow and outflow of goods and commodities also require
logistics managers to ensure smooth and in-time supply. Besides,
opportunities are also available with organizations specializing in
cargo handling. Shipping and port managers also can work with

Reservation as per norms
Duration and Fees
Duration of the
programme is Two Years.
Fee is Rs 2 lakhs per
year as non residential and should be paid by way of Demand Draft/Cheque
drawn in favour of "The Vice Chancellor, Indian Maritime
University", payable at Chennai.
Course fee once paid
