Indian Maritime University (IMU) invites applications from Indian Nationals for the post of Finance Officer on Deputation basis initially for a period of two years.   IMU was established by an Act of Parliament in 2008 in order to promote maritime studies and research and to achieve excellence in areas of marine science and technology, marine environment and other related fields.   IMU is the first of its kind in the country created exclusively for the advancement of maritime studies.   The University is in the need of a Finance Officer to handle and manage the entire financial transactions of the University covering its campuses viz. Chennai, Mumbai, Kolkata, Visakhapatnam and Cochin with Headquarters at Chennai.   The details of qualification, age, experience etc. are given below:

Eligibility

(a)

(i)    Holding analogous post on regular basis OR

(ii)   With 3years regular service in the post in the pay scale of Rs.12000-375-16500 of equivalent (V CPC) OR

 (III) With 8 years regular service in the post in the pay scale of Rs.10000-325-15200 or equivalent (V CPC)

(b)  Possessing 12 years administrative experience in Group A post.

Desirable:  ICWA/ACA/MBA with experience/ exposure to computer based accounting /audit will be an added advantage.

Age

Age not more than 50 years (relaxable by Vice Chancellor in deserving cases).

6.

General Information

  1. Candidates those who are already employed in Government/Central University/ Autonomous body should submit their application through proper channels.
  2. Officers should preferably belong to the IA&AS cadre with rich experience in handling financial matters in autonomous bodies like Central or State University.
  3. Experience prescribed may be relaxed in the case of exceptionally meritorious candidate.
  4. Incomplete applications or applications without attested copies of certificates or received after the last date are liable to be rejected.
